Y. G. Programme Co-ordinator
SYC are seeking expressions of interest for a Y.G. Programme Co-ordinator at our Balcairn St site, focused on intermediate aged students. This would involve connecting into the Greater Halswell area and co-ordinating the Y. G. programme in partnership with our Y. G. programme co-ordinator at our Lyttelton St site. This role also includes 10 hours as a 24-7 Youth Worker at Hilmorton High School which involves supporting students, building relationships, cultivating school spirit, leadership development and integrating young people with out of school activities. The Living Room Co-ordinator
We are looking for someone to ensure the running of our onsite café, The Living Room. The Living Room provides delicious coffee and food, but more importantly provides a warm and friendly environment, which enables connection and belonging for our local community and onsite programs.
This position requires a motivated person passionate about providing great food and service for others. This position will involve daily café operations including; ordering and preparing food, establishing and leading a good volunteer team, upholding our Food Safety processes and handling money. The successful applicant will be able to lead a team, have an eye for detail, be friendly and adaptable. Barista experience is preferred, however not essential. The hours of work will be 10-20 hours dependant on the successful applicant’s situation, and finalised detail of this position. Ability to work Sunday evening will be an advantage, but not essential. We are seeking expressions of interest from passionate Christian leaders responding to God’s call on their lives to be part of a redemptive community of faith discipling lifelong followers of Jesus.
We are considering engaging an additional, full-time pastor to complement our existing leadership team in 2020. Reporting to the Senior Pastor, Alan Jamieson, the leadership team provides shared shepherd leadership and strategic direction across the church as a whole.
Our primary requirement is for demonstrated leadership skills and an ability to lead people through change; empowering them to be lifelong followers who make lifelong followers of Jesus. The role will hold responsibility for allocated areas of organisational leadership and may also involve shared preaching and teaching. Experience leading young adults, and skills in training and development would be desirable. However, all expressions of interest will be considered.
A strong commitment to our bicultural journey and to living out the SWBC vision is essential.
