Learning & Development Team Member – Leave Cover
The Learning & Development team are a small team within SWBC working on Presence Based Church theology, discipleship and leadership resources. The Team is looking for someone with suitable skills and experience to join the team for an 8-week period to cover a period of extended leave. This role is 16 hours a week with a high degree of flexibility. The Learning & Development Team is a small team with a highly collaborative, digital-first and flexible approach to teamwork. As such, suitable applicants will have experience and understanding of our Presence Based Church journey, skills in online and remote collaboration, and be comfortable with flexible, digital, remote and collaborative teamwork approaches and technology. A passion for learning is essential.

Barista and Trainer
The Living Room is a space where we support our ministries and communities to connect in a welcoming and relaxed environment. We are currently looking for a Barista to join our weekday team. This role will be to support the Living Room team by making great coffee in a friendly, efficient and competent manner. This role will also include training new baristas for the future, in an ongoing capacity. Hours would be 6 per week, across Wednesdays and Thursdays. Young Adults Leader & Senior Youth Programme Leader
At South West Baptist Church (SWBC) we highly value our young adults. We are looking at establishing a role to grow a thriving young adult movement across both our gathered and local neighbourhood spaces. SWBC also run a youth programme for Year 11 – 13s through our youth trust, SYC. There is a vacancy for a leadership position to lead a world-class youth programme for this age group.

These combined roles are a full-time position but could be split into two part time positions, depending on the applicants.

Key Accountabilities:
Facilitate belonging of young adults at SWBC by connecting and integrating them into our neighbourhood community life and helping them find a place to belong, serve and grow at SWBC.


Lead the SYC Year 11 – 13s programme in conjunction with SYC Trust by arranging and empowering volunteer leaders to run the program and care for their youth, developing empowering local and global exposure experiences and providing clear communication about the programme with all stakeholders as required.

Both roles require; leading volunteer teams, the ability to pastorally care for all those involved, creating efficient, effective and empowering ways of working, leadership development and discipleship processes of young adults and youth programme volunteer leaders, and creating a positive and inclusive young adult vibe at our gathering spaces.

As an integral part of South West Baptist Church, the scope of the position will also include a variety of general ‘team support’ duties, ‘acting’ duties or ‘alternative’ duties as required, where these can reasonably be undertaken according to the competency of the incumbent.
