Global Week

From September 12 – 20 we are celebrating and learning more about our world and God’s work that is happening in it.

Saturday September 12 | Global Dinner Parties

Sadly we have had to cancel our Global Night Market this year, due to safety reasons. Instead we are encouraging Global Dinner Parties! Gathering together in your home with family, friends and neighbours and sharing your favourite global food. Check out these recipes from our global people to help inspire you!

As you eat together, it’s a chance to remember and pray for our global people and places around the world.

We’d love to see photos of your Global Dinner Party – send them through to together@swbc.org.nz.

Sunday September 13 | Sunday Gathering Online

Join us for our Sunday gathering online, available from 9.00am on our YouTube channel here. John Robertson will be sharing.

Monday September 14 | Global Night

Come along to hear from a panel of our global people and pray for our people and places around the world. Happening from 7.30pm in The Living Room.

Please note there will be a restriction of 100 attendees at this event, due to Alert Level 2 guidelines.

Friday September 18 | Global Movie Night

Join us for a free screening of Academy Award Nominated film, The Breadwinner. Watch the trailer here. This movie is rated PG-13. Bring cash to purchase snacks. Happening from 7.30pm in our Lyttelton St site Auditorium.

Please note there will be a restriction of 100 attendees at this event, due to Alert Level 2 guidelines.

Parvana is an 11-year-old girl who lives under Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001. After the wrongful arrest of her father, Parvana cuts off her hair and dresses like a boy to support her family. Working alongside a friend, she soon discovers a new world of freedom and danger. Drawing strength from the fantastical stories she invents, Parvana embarks on an epic quest to find her father and reunite her family.

Sunday September 20 | Sunday Gathering

There will be five onsite gatherings at our Lyttelton St site at 8.00am, 9.30am, 11.00am, 5.30pm and 7.00pm. To attend these gatherings you’ll need to register here. So that we have space for everybody, please only register for one gathering.

Children will remain with their parents for the gathering, and will need to be registered too. There is a place for registering children and accompanying family members on the registration form linked above.

Ants will be speaking at all five onsite gatherings.
