Hospitality Update

Last year we had a thorough look at the future of the café. After talking with many people and groups, looking at the history, costs and successes of the past we decided to apply for and later received a resource consent and food handling registration from the City Council to run commercially. We don’t see it as a commercial space however, more a place of warmth, relaxed and comfortable hospitality that incorporates simple food and drinks.

Many of you have told us that you enjoy being able to chat to both newcomers and regulars over a cuppa after our Sunday gatherings. Our first step is to focus on Sunday hospitality, and creating a space where can welcome people and get to know each other better in a relaxed environment. We will always have free tea and coffee on Sundays, but to maintain this and continue to grow, we need the following:

–          Sunday Hospitality Coordinator

This will be someone who can provide barista coffee, order and set up food, and co-ordinate and lead volunteer teams on Sunday mornings. For more information on this paid role, please pick up an application pack from the Info Centre or Reception, or email Ellen Cooper ecooper@swbc.org.nz. Applications have now been extended until March 31.

–          Volunteers

We’re looking for volunteers to help with set up, clean-up, making coffee and serving with a smile! To sign up, visit the Info Centre or email reception@swbc.org.nz

We will then look at midweek options, stay tuned!
